We don't just help people find a house. We help them find their place.

Make it stand out

FIND YOUR PLACE.
Not just a house. A home. A neighborhood. A community. A life. That's community. And that's part of what we're helping people find.

Because when you're helping someone choose where to live, and really helping you answer questions like:

  • Where will I feel connected?

  • Where will my kids grow up?

  • Where will I meet people?

  • Am I close to things I enjoy?

  • Will I have neighbors I actually know?

  • Is there a neighborhood where I can become part of something?

  • Does this home support the way I want to live—not just today, but for the next chapter of my life?

We believe in encouraging people to buy the best home you can in the community where you want to be long-term,. And we don’t want you to obsess over decorating for resale, create your space so that you love it. When it is time to make a change and sell, we will help you prepare the home for the current market and maximize the value for your sale.

Maybe the real estate industry has been asking the wrong question.

I just read an article called “Why Americans Stopped Throwing Dinner Parties,” and it got me thinking about something much bigger than dinner parties.

According to the data discussed in the article, the percentage of Americans who say they host friends or family in their homes at least monthly has fallen from 42% in 1975 to just 12% today. And the decline isn't limited to entertaining. Americans are also less likely to socialize face-to-face, participate in community activities, volunteer, attend sporting events or simply spend time with one another. (The Atlantic)

We have made it incredibly easy to stay home, entertain ourselves and avoid the coordination that comes with getting together.

But something is lost when we do.

Friendships take time. Communities take participation. Relationships require showing up.

And that makes me think about what we do at Benadum Bumpus Group.

We don't believe finding a home is simply about bedrooms, bathrooms, countertops and square footage.

Where you live shapes how you live.

The neighborhood matters. The community matters. Being close to the people, places and activities that make you feel connected matters.

When we help someone buy a home, we're helping them find a place that fits their life—and hopefully a community where they can build a life.

Maybe that's a neighborhood where people still know one another. Maybe it's a walkable area where you run into friends. Maybe it's a community with great parks, restaurants, schools, churches, clubs, trails, events or a thriving downtown. Maybe it's simply a place where you can put a table in your backyard and invite people over.

Because I think we need more of that.

More neighbors who become friends.

More impromptu dinners.

More porch conversations.

More gathering around kitchen islands.

More walking together.

More community events.

More people saying, “Come over.”

Real estate is often talked about as an investment in property.

We think it can also be an investment in the life you want to live.

So when we help you find your next home, we aren't just asking, “Do you like the house?”

We're asking:

Does this home—and does this community—give you the opportunity to build the life you want?

Because ultimately, home isn't just where you live.

It's where your life happens.

And we'd love to see more of us making that life a little more connected again.

FIND YOUR PLACE.
Not just a house. A home. A neighborhood. A community. A life. That's community. And that's part of what we're helping people find.
